At The Mod Factory, I, Ron the Mod, create vibrant, dynamic works that celebrate the bold spirit of 1960s pop art. Deeply inspired by the legacy of Andy Warhol, my art captures the colorful energy and striking visual storytelling that defined mid-century modern creativity.
My process is a fusion of traditional and digital techniques. I work with a wide range of mixed mediums, including photo transfers, decoupage, wood, acrylic paints, and oil paints. Each piece begins with hand-prepared wood panels, setting a textured, organic foundation. Using photo transfer techniques and decoupage, I layer imagery and paper elements to build rich, tactile surfaces. I use acrylics for bold, graphic colorwork and oils for depth and texture.
Blending analog with digital, I also employ Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and AI tools to manipulate and refine my designs before they evolve into physical works. This integration allows me to push creative boundaries, creating modern interpretations of the rebellious, colorful, and optimistic spirit of the mid-century era.
At its core, my work is a revival of 1960s pop art and mid-century modern design, infused with contemporary techniques that honor the past while embracing the future.

PHOTOGRAPHY
2008 Collection
The Mod Factory’s original 2008 photography series captures a playful collision of vintage style, alternative culture, and bold feminine attitude. Shot in stark black and white, each image embraces the aesthetic of classic pin-up art with a modern twist, equal parts cheeky, empowered, and subversive.
The series blends mid-century motifs with punk edge: roller skates meet lingerie, high heels rest beside greasy tires, and classic boudoir poses are laced with satire and rebellion. Whether it’s a knowing smirk, a staged prop, or a pose that both honors and disrupts tradition, these portraits celebrate individuality, defy convention, and pay homage to the irreverent spirit of DIY glamour.
At its core, The Mod Factory is a visual time capsule, one that invites you to step into a world where vintage meets vixen, and nostalgia gets a radical revamp.
